RIP President Gerald Ford
#11
When Regan died, the market closed. When most presidents die, they close the market for a day... When Ford died they had a moment of silence.

I asked why & was told...

If a president visits the NYSE, they will close it upon his death. Aparantly President Ford never had time to take the tour.

Welcomed family debate and issues in an open positive manner and showed caring respect for Betty during and after her rehab. We could certainly use many more like him in public service today and in the future.

RIP, Mr. President.  Sad  [usa]
Hear, hear.  President Ford was a good man who put the job ahead of himself.  I wish that were always the case.

Nasdaq is closing on Tuesday for Ford.  Ford was a member of the NASD board of directors from 1999-2000, when the NASD was still Nasdaq's parent company.

I know.  Even worse, President Bush stayed at home also.  I was there, though.
