You paid good money for the unit. Can't you call or e mail them? See how good their customer service is. After that if you are not happy, let us know and certainly let them know you will spread the word about them bad or good!

You have an active automatic humidification system and you put beads in there?

Am I the only one who is seeing this as an issue?

Tank, what kind of humidification system do you have in there? Can you post pictures? Links?

Am I reading this right? your independent hygrometer is reading 15 points higher than the one with the alarm? You have an electronics problem that needs to be resolved. One of these readings has to be wrong.

The hygrometer and the humidity sensor on the electronic unit are synched properly with each other.  However, the audible alarm goes off way too often, about every 4 hours.

So, I just keep hitting the audible reset button and I get 4 hours of peace and quiet.  But after about two days I check the reseviour and it seems dry as a bone and the electronics gradually show a lower humidity than my hygrometer.  Once I refill the reseviour everthing goes back to normal.  However, it seems that I only put about 4-5 oz. of distilled water into the reseviour before its filled completely.  It should hold more water.  This tells me that maybe I got a reseviour that is not properly releasing water.

But I added beads on Christmas Eve and the until alarm has not gone off once yet and both humidy indicators are synched up.

that makes no sense... beads OR active humidification. Not both. Otherwise, what's the point?

Do you have any details on the humidification device you are using? or is this it?

acording to the link on Bargan http://www.bargainhumidors.com/bh/ProductInfo.aspx?productid=ACC-HYDRA you are supposed to be using 100% sealed water cartridges.

That is the one.  And it just went off again!

I use a 14.5 gallon humidifier and about 40 lbs. of beads. Add a gallon of DW about once a month. The beads are only there because I had them in the cooler and humidors, but, if the power goes out or there is a problem while I'm away, the beads should take care of it.

You may also have a defective Hydra given the discrepancy in readings. Why don't you ask Bargain Humidors to ship you another one?

Right now the hygrometer reads 69% and the Hydra readout says 69% humidity.  But I do not why the hell the alarm keeps going off.  I called Bargainhumidors a while ago but got an answering machine.

I'm betting you have a bad unit Tank.  I hope they help and can troubleshoot for you as it appears the units are highly thought of.

A neighbor just got the same hookup from his wife for Christmas (she may have had help picking it out Wink) and I'm going over to take a look at it tomorrow.  He's saying he was having a similar issue so I'll keep you posted.
