Back from the beach, got the garage door opener to work. Had to replace the eyes. Man salt water ruins everything.

This tree died after the storm at my main house so the other day I started taking off the limbs etc. This is as far as I can go. Next step is to cut it down without hitting my shed.

I think I figured it out. I'm gonna tie a line to the upper branch and than to my tractor. As I cut the main trunk, I'll have someone pull it with the tractor away from the shed.
This ought to be interesting.

Went down to the beach house yesterday to do the prep work on another room.

Painted the moldings and doors in the room and before I left today I put the second coat of spackle on the sheet-rock tape. Next week, I'll be able to paint the ceilings and walls.

The tree guy wanted over $500 bucks, cost me 60 for the electric chain saw. Of course I have to dig out the base. UGH

Why not rent a stump grinder?

yesterday I took my GF out to dinner and lit up a Cane Daytona. We went for a drive while I finished my cigar. I drove down to where the village pool is just to see how it fared as it was situated right on the water's edge. The pool was fine, the administrative buildings not so much. But, the neighborhood surrounding the pool was all multimillion dollar estates. Unlike the homes in my neighborhood where most of them are elevated at least 3 or 4 steps, these were built with their first floors on the ground level. The devastation was raw like the storm happened yesterday. Most of the homes were vacant with construction crews working. Pods outside holding possessions that survived and the streets lined with dumpsters. Another "tell" of the problems, every car that was there was brand new. A testament to the water depth. It was probably no worse than my own block, but 80% of these houses weren't built with flooding in mind. where only 10% on my block were on ground level.
Oh, and all throughout oceanside (my village) for miles (yes, miles, no exaggeration) dead bushes and trees. One of my neighbors had coverage and is the only one who re-landscaped.

I was going to take pictures, but I just didn't feel like it. It was too horrible and brought back too many ugly memories.
