How long could you "Smoke 'em if you got 'em"?
#11
used to think i had way too many cigars on hand. then i stopped buying for a while this year, and it was a little alarming how fast my stocks dwindled. which probably means i'm smoking way too much. i mean, two big coolerdors and a large desktop... and i'd say they would've lasted about a year.

i gotta cut down...

yeah. and stop drinking beer and go vegan. righto.

I would guess that I have enough to last at least a year if I smoked 7 to 10 per week but not really sure.

great question. I have around a 10 year supply, give or take. Not less than 8 years, maybe as much as 15. Oh wait... I just won that 100 nub box. OK, 10 years and 5 months.

Pete Wrote:     Earlier this week, Matt-N-Ga. started an interesting poll/thread regarding the implementation of tobacco taxation to fund the proposed State Children's Health Insurance Program (SCHIP).  At the time I voted in his poll, I found I was among the majority that stated they'd, "Wait and see and hope for the best."  It got me thinking, though... what if worst case scenario became reality?

Before everyone gets all serious and begins voicing their political stance, opinions on SCHIP, the over-taxation of tobacco, etc. - STOP!  Save it for Matt's thread.  This one is just for fun...

[color="red"]Consider your ON-HAND quantity of cigars.  Now consider your current smoking habits.  Between the two, how long could you enjoy cigars if you completely STOPPED buying (or stealing, or acquiring, etc.) cigars RIGHT NOW?  Obviously, it safe to say guys like Robbie and our very own ERIC (ET)[/color] would be okay for a while Tongue, but how many weeks, or months, or years are YOU covered for?
I tried that, making a thread about something that serious just a curious question, as you can tell, that went up in flames[lol].   As for Eric and Robbie, if what I understand is true, they stand to be the hardest hit by this due to the Floor Tax that will be implemented upon passing of the SHIP.  Basically, they will have to pony up the tax burden on what they already have on hand, not just what they purchase from that point forward.  I hope what I heard is incorrect, cause it will for sure be a burden on our dear friends and on all B&M's we support.

As for how long I can last, I'm not nearly in the stockpile catagories as many of our other BOTL's.  I can go, at my current rate of cunsumption, about 1.5 years, give or take.  I also decided to wait and see on the SCHIP cause frankly, I can't go and spend a ton of money at the moment.  Luckily, DiscDog is in the same state as me, I'll just go move in with him [lol].  Of course, if he reads this, he may have something to say about that.

I guess I could always move to Memphis, I've got family close to there, and apparently Uncle T needs some help counting all his.

Skip, I was actually going to mention you in the intial post, as I recall you posting somewhere that you probably have more cigars than you can smoke in a lifetime.  I refrained from doing so, as not to steal your fire.

I'm thinking Tommy2Guns is another guy who will likely make it through the weekend.  [lol]

at 1-2 cigars per week I will last 3 years easy. Problem is when We herf....and we go through an average of 5 cigars a herf, 5 herfs a season, dang!

The real question is do you start with the Thompson Iguanas or do you smoke your Padron 80Th's first?

Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.
