Cigar Box Humi Storage
#1
I hope to complete my new humidor pretty soon. It should hold 6-8 cigar boxes.
I have looked through most of the pics in the Humi P0RN thread. I see some boxes with the lids on and some boxes with the lids off.
If you're keeping the boxes in your humidor does it matter? I'm just curious if it's better for the cigars to have the lid off. All of the cigar trays you can buy have slits/holes in them to allow for the movement of air. Would I be better off doing that to the cigar boxes, or would it make any impact?

If it's a slide top box, I may leave it cracked 1/4"...but all tops are on...

Its my understanding that the longer the boxes are in that environment, the humidity will permeate even if you leave them wrapped in the cello. (no, this isnt a cello on or cello off comment)
Id say that if you plan on aging, it wont matter. But if you will be in and out of that humi a lot, cracking the tops wouldnt be a bad idea.

I always leave the lids on and the cigars in the cello. Everything still comes out all right.
