I know it's CRAZY and who would have thought! I was getting 10 to 12 before at best and paying them over $60 a year for the modem. It spikes over 60 mbps on the test. All along I thought it was my pc. Now I paid $78 one time for this speed and don't have to pay comcast anymore. I'm still giddy over it.
.

We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.

Here is my speed with my rented comcast modem:

This is on the slower side of my network. I guess I should explain that a bit. My whole house is networked. I have hardwire internet in everyroom. I have my Comcast Modem connected too a Netgear WNDR4000. Tis handles my wireless that is only used for PS3 Video Streaming. From here the wired internet goes down into my basement where it is split our using a Linksys EG005W. Both my router and Switch are gigabit compatable. I also used Cat 6 vs Cat 5. Now for the slow part. My desktop is up in my loft. Well I did not think when I ran only one line up hereso I had to use another switch and the only one I had is not gigabit compatable. So that is the week link in the system and slows me down a bit. But I will fix that soon enough.

I also have a ton of port forwarding going on and everything as static ip addresses.
