How are you guys? I actually was offered several fake Cohibas on my cruise last year in Cozumel. It was a bad fake job with the wrapper.... but we bought two to give to a self proclaimed "expert" and he never knew the difference. Scott and I pointed it out to him. He finally quit saying he knew more than us about cigars. LOL

I got a call from a buddy of mine who recently went down to Mexico.  He said he picked up a couple of large dark Cohibas (double corona size) with triple caps and extra labels noting "Edicion Limitada 2006".  He then said he bought them from a street vendor who was trying to sell for $20.  He said he got the vendor to sell two for one. 

I chuckled and hung up the phone.

Man does this look like long leaf filler. It was so bad I let it go out and decided to take look inside.



The top left is the wrapper, the rest of the top is the binder and the bottom are the scrap pieces that composed filler. It was dressed up to be a H. Upman Monarch.

I talked to a friend this weekend that gave me this H. Upmann Monarch a couple of months ago.  I hated to do it, but I told him that the $300 box he had purchase from a back room in a local dealer was really a fake. He was bummed that he still had about 10 of the sticks, but he was about to buy another box of something else from the same guy and I couldn't let him.
