What do you recommend to a guest that is a new smoker.

When my wife first started smoking cigars, she like Butera Royal Vintage,  Baccarat, Dunhills and Por Larranaga (DR)

I actually picked up a box of La Fincas for my cigarette-smoking buddy and the occasional guest smoker.
They're a cheap, good cigar that the uninitiated generally like.

definately ryj's here.  enough name recognition to allow for good cigar conversation while you enjoy them together, good quality stick that will burn easy, draw well, taste mild but satisfying.  a definate winner.

Thanks Mark, I ended up going with the RYJ Reserva Real's. All three of my brothers enjoyed them and smoked them down to there fingers.

We went to the Fire House Pub and Grill about a mile off Rt 93 exit #4 in Derry. Downstairs they have a restaurant on one side offering everything from brick oven pizza and burgers to steak and seafood. The other side has a pub with scheduled live entertainment.

Upstairs they have a cigar/martini bar with a couple of fire places very nice. The smoke eater system they have worked great. They offer a full bar plus top-shelf whiskey, cognac and brandy, the bartender told me they were stocking high end liqueurs and trying to appeal to the aficionado. The night I went, there was mostly a 20/30 something crowd drinking martini's and beer.

Me too!
I'm new, so I really don't know what I like, except for very old cubans and OR Anejos. So please send those immediately. Thanks.

Are you old enough to smoke?

I've really enjoyed some Puros Indios sticks, and never been turned green by one- I'd hand those out without reservation.

As for [pirate]sticks, probably JLP, Flor de Cano or maybe Hoyos.
