Ya, he's obviously talking about Rocky. But bottom line is the Rocky vintage line sells cause it tastes good. There's a lot of vintage cigars out there that don't sell cause they taste like shit.

That is true Herfnerd and may be exactly what he is doing. But most 800 lb. gorillas don't produce a line of cigars ( or have them produced) if they are only joking.

Lew has been banging the drum of falsely advertised "aged" tobacco forever.  He's even had articles in smoke and cigar magazine exposing the myth of "pre-embargo" tobacco finds, twenty year old tobaccos and so on.   Seems to me to be an attack on the whole subject matter and rocky as the preeminent model of that behavior.  I mean he could attack cusano 18 but would the same amount of people care?

Look here we're talking about it.  I'm sure other boards are talking about it.  Lew has done his job.  Again.  Marketing genius.  And a hot wife to boot.

Does Lew actually write this stuff? Or is it a team of ad agents? He has so stuff online where he is saying they are reducing the amount of domestic inventory to make room for the expected influx of cuban product he is sure that is coming this year. hock:

I read somewhere that a few years ago, he had a deal where you could send in some small amount of money to assure of being one of the first to recieve your cuban cigars. I don't remember that but it sounds like something he might try.

Briandg is correct about the reason for the launch of this brand. And obviously the name I gave the brand tends to cheapen it and make it a harder sell at this price.... but I couldn't resist. I figured if other people are claiming to use tobacco from 1990 & 1992, then I might as well claim we have tobacco from 1890 or 1892.

Originally, I was gonna have the brand made with two blank spots on the label - and then supply a sheet of tiny paste on numbers so that people could "make their own vintage years".

The catalogue has a bad typo where they did a cut and paste and inserted a description from the Flor de Consuegra on the Flor de Baloney brand. These are all first quality cigars - and eventually the seconds of Flor de Baloney will wind up becoming Consuegras along with all the other Villazon brands
