NANP, the original release I had were all med/full strength, the box I bought a month or so ago, not the same stick. They are very much like the Gran Habano #1, not the #3 like the original.

Well, that sucks, then. The originals were a nice smoke.

Are we sure we are all on the same page?  They currently only have the Corojo which are full, the Habano which are medium and the Connecticuts which are mild.  The siglos are top of the line strong.

The VL's were last released in 2005 and are a combination of Maduro and Corojo.  Should be as strong or stronger than the Corojo #5's, so I am surprised to hear people say they are weak.

I'm gonna torch one tonight and see!

Sorry Mason, I was using the regular series as a reference point and your sumation is correct. Except for me, strength wise the #5 is the strongest, the Tres Siglos is the most flavorful but equal to the #3 in strength. The original VL's I had were from the first run and being young, were very potent. However, the age has toned them down quite a bit. At least that's JMO

Well I am smoking one now and I think the answer is somewhere in the middle! They are not near as potent as the #5. That being said they are pretty good! They really remind me of a Padron 3000. You can definitly taste the maduro however the Corojo definitely is more subdued. Overall I think worth the money and perfect construction and draw. Lot of earth tones and also leather throughout. I hate to say one dimensional but at least the one dimension is tasty! Mason

See! You just took a shorter route to say what I was trying to. lol Less strength than the #5 and not as flavorful as the Tres Siglos. Nothing at all wrong with the stick, just not one in my normal lineup. I've never got the bitterness that Bluesman describes, but the one dimension is dead on.

By the way, make sure you check under the label, one of them says free cigars for life, and it hasn't been turned in yet.

Yeah, I read something about the free cigars when I was trying to do research on them.  The story I read was a little different.  I heard there was 15 labels hand signed and they were free cigars for 1 Year worth $1,000.  Either way not to shabby!  Who knows, I'll keep my fingers crossed!!!
