Sitting here smoking a 601 Red by Pepin for United Tobacco/EO (I may be off on this but I think it's right) and MAN what a cigar! Thanks to Maytagman for hooking a brother up.
Beautiful looking cigar with a smooth wrapper and a deep caramel color. Prelight is sweet but a bit tangy with a honey/molasses hint to it. TONS of smoke right off the bat which I love in a cigar.
It starts with that familiar Pepin/Tatuaje/Blue Label (I hate to say it) almost cubanesque flavor to it. Spice early that quickly settles into a mellow flavor that I have grown to love from Pepin cigars and in particular Tatuaje Cabinet line. This man is a genius when it comes to evoking a similar but not same profile in cigars that bear his name under so many lines.
Salt and Pepper ash hangs on for a good inch and half before I knock it off (I'm not a huge "look at my ash" kind of guy"). Leathery, creamy cigar at the core that continues to build in strength. Pretty consistent through the first and 2nd third of the cigar which I expect from Pepin since I find most of his stuff to be straight up tobacco throughout.
The last third takes it up notch with a good Vitamin N buzzzz that has me nice an mellow.
Maytag, I owe you for this one Bro. NANP talks these up and I now know why. All in all another great stick from Pepin.

My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.
