The Nebraska Karma was in full swing.  We did not see anything that day but then again it was midday but I am glad I brought you guys there.  It seems the luck of such great friendships saw my bullet straight and true. 

I must say that this was an incredible day with my son Jacob, my brother Dave, and my Dad.  And all I could think about was the Stogie Chat brothers who have also visited this spot.  Gus, Nick, Steve, Dooley, Gunnar, Jimmie, Bobgun, and Paul.  Today's events and memories of the past have really made this a wonderfully spiritual place.

Of course here is Oregon you only need a pistol, we get close to the animals and that is hunting [lol]

Well mine is not nearly as impressive as Tanks deer but I was pumped to finally harvest a deer with my bow! Just after shooting light I had two does (I thought) running towards my stand.  I searched the woods behind them to see if they had a buck chasing them and saw a coyote and new it was going to be hard to get them to stop for a shot.  I bleated at them serveral times as they got in to about 30 yards and finally got them to stop.  It was a quartering away shot so I aimed a little towards the back and got a clean pass through.  Still wasn't the best shot but it piled up about 35 yards from my stand.  When I walked up on the animal I was upset to see it a little button buck instead of a doelike I though, but at 30 yards I couldn't see his little nubs.  He may not be a trophy by most standards but after bow hunting hard for so long I was just happy to finally put one down.  Now I have some meat in the freezer and several more weeks after rifle season to try and fill my other bow tag

very nice guys. could use some of those good vibes as we are getting ready for a week of Elk hunting in the coast range here followed by three more weeks of bow hunting for deer. would love to put meat in the freezer this year.

Im going to be bow hunting the next two mornings before work and then heading up to Northern Missouri on Friday for opening weekend of rifle season...this is my favorite time of year

I have that bumper sticker on my game trailer.  I have elk hunted a lot near you in McCall Idaho.  Going back there next October.
