Wow that is a MONSTER! I don't know if I could control my shakes if I saw that bad boy.  Congrats to your buddy [bravo2]

And those mtn. lions scare the shit outta me.  Last year at my friends place in Northern MO there had been a sighting of one with some kittens around...made for  a pretty nerv racking walk to the stand with just a bow in my hands in the dark.

Caleb!  That is a tremendous buck for sure.  I would get the shakes too!  I NEVER get buck fever during gun season.  I NEVER get buck fever on a stalk or when I am on the ground.

But put me in a tree stand and a nice buck coming in and my legs start to shake uncontrollably.  I feel my heartbeating in my ears.  I am borderline in control in not out of control.

Some camfire stories at deer camp.  I was with little bro and there was really no campfire.  But it was good bonding time and good conversation.

Well the new custom rifle is done!  .300 ultra mag.  Built by one of the best in the business.  McMillian stock, Lilja #5 barrel, Jewel trigger,  action fully blueprinted, muzzle break and a Nightforce scope.  Jerry is a master with his machines.

Her name is Thummper and she is was broken in this past weekend.  One shot then clean for 25 cycles.  Then 3 shots and clean for another 5 cycles.  She is driving tacks at 100 yards.

As of now we have 210 grain Berger bullets flying at 2,900 feet per second.  Slower than lower caliber rifles but this heavy grain bullet is needed to fight the wind and maintain ballistic co-efficient to 2,000 meters.

Here she is!  All ready for hunting season.  Ballistics already entered into Nightforce's software program and drop tables are printed for distance holdover or dialling.
