The description for Event ID 517 from source Microsoft-Windows-Backup cannot be found. Either the component that raises this event is not installed on your local computer or the installation is corrupted. You can install or repair the component on the local computer.


If the event originated on another computer, the display information had to be saved with the event.

Running a backup right now with admin privileges.
OK, it just failed, with a different error code: 0x81000037

The backup operation that started at '‎2015‎-‎07‎-‎26T15:29:13.404931300Z' has failed with following error code '2155348256' (Windows Backup failed to set security on the files and folders under '<backup location>\WindowsImageBackup\<Computer Name>'. Check that SYSTEM has permissions to overwrite the previous backup.). Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved.

I was going to try that, but tried 1 more time & got Windows Update error 0x80070490

Which led me to this:


I ran thru it a couple of times and then tried the backup again.
As it was running I went outside to have a cigar...a Master Blend 3.
I came back up expecting it to have failed...but it worked!
I want a cigar so bad... Haha

Ok, when I shut it down last night, windows did 3 new updates, so I ran the backup this morning (as an administrator)...and it failed... Angry1

New error code:  0x8078002A

The backup operation that started at '‎2015‎-‎07‎-‎27T15:20:34.322774200Z' has failed with following error code '2155348010' (One of the backup files could not be created.). Please review the event details for a solution, and then rerun the backup operation once the issue is resolved.
