Ok, I am going to this event tonight.  First of its kind in our area.  Upstate gets no respect.  It will also be the first time I have ever attended anything like it.  Supposed to have reps from Davidoff, CAO, RP, Ashton, La Aurora, and more.  Rollers from La Aurora, single malt tasting, micro beer tasting, dinner, and then gambling at the Casino.  I will try and take pics.

Don, I wish you could have been there.  One of these days we will herf.

The event was very cool.  There has never been anything like this in the Western New York State area, and I hope they do it again.  The location was great, as the casino has HUGE ceilings, so the smoke didn't gather and build up.  Great food and plenty to drink, but lets talk cigars.

It was like Halloween for cigar lovers.  The Ashton rep handed you a bag and you went from booth to booth and were handed a cigar.  Trick or Treat.

All the reps were incredibly friendly.  The Oliva reps and I talked a lot - the one guy was based out of New England.  I got to see Nubs first hand, but they were not giving them out.  They were surprised I knew about the El Cobre.

La Aurora had a roller there, and I smoked the fresh cigar he rollled for me last night.  It was still wet, and produced a lot of smoke.

Gino Argenese (spelling?) was there representing his brand.  People were going nuts over his barber pole cigar.  I didn't try it, but I will report.

I also spent a great deal of time talking to a rep for Pepin and just got to learn a lot about blending and the process that goes into it.

All in all, I had a great time.  Sure, it wasn't the Big Smoke event in the city, but it was fun.  (We didn't get the Flavourettes.Sad)  I do hope they make this an anuual event.  Its really great to be able to smoke with a lot of people that know and appreciate this hobby of ours.
