Not sure about the deals...but the site needs some serious work....looks like a 12 year old kid put it together 5 years ago...not very professional.

1st post and you are pushing cigars from a site that looks pretty fake.   Do you even own a humidor or know what one is?

And learn to post in the right section.   This belongs in the retailer section and not the cigar section!

They just added that to the website.    They are in Addison, TX but shipping out from PA??   (note the sales tax for PA residents).    Perhaps using someone else to ship their products to avoid the tax in Texas.

18 years or older to order?  hmmm...    someone does not know the laws!  lol!

Good points and I guess yes to the laws. A noob in any business is going to have a learning curve. Is this the guy that posted months ago looking for a shipper for multiple sites? What I see it is a small, new site and  just starting out with a few vendors and that's ok. Everybody can't start out like Robbie.  Give him credit for trying and not selling drugs to our kids in the schoolyard.  Thevoiceofreason
.

We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.

Sorry Taf, but I have to disagree a little on this one.    Its also TAX DAY, so I'm a bit grumpy with sending out checks with all those zeros!!  :?

We get a post from a new member, the first post, about some new cigar website with great deals.   (in the wrong section of the forum too)  hmm...

The site claims "Lone Star Stogies is the one stop online shop for all of your cigars, humidors, and all other smoking accesories" but only has THREE cigars on sale at RETAIL.  hmm...

There are definately issues with their policy, including the "age of 18" being the required age to purchase.

And, I think several here on SC can recall the problems with fullfillment houses sending cigars.     The contact information is Texas, but they charge PA sales tax! (meaning the product is shipped from PA and not actually in the hands of the person selling in TX).   I believe that Yahoo Stores requires sellers to actually have the physical inventory for sale?

The phone number goes back to a cigar store in Texas (972-661-9136).   If the sales are through that store, then they should be collecting TX taxes as well (tobacco tax and sales tax!).

You are right in stating that a noob in the business deserves a chance, nothing wrong with that.   Perhaps a better intro to the forum asking everyone to checkout the site and offer suggestions would have yielded a better response.    Instead we get some SPAM and thats open for comment.

Its the illegal sites which cause problems for the ligitimate and legal tobacco sellers online.   More and more people get the wise idea to sell cigars like toaster ovens on ebay.   No real inventory and little knowledge in cigars. They ignore the laws, ship to places they shouldn't, ship to minors, and in the end we all get stricter laws and regulations and more bad PR for tobacco vendors.

Question is that the case here with this "great" new site?  Wink
