I brought cigars, lighters and a cutter back from Vegas..  But I can't remember how I did that or where I put them.

I carried my cigars on board with me & I put my cutter & lighter in my checked bag. No problems.

Lucas, one thing that you might want to look at is the DOT approved light travel case. You should not have any issues with taking your tourch lighter with you when you fly. You might even be able to slide your cutter in there as well. so that it stays with the lighter.
