La Flor Dominicana Grand Maduro #6
#1
I just finished a LFD Grand Maduro #6 that Steve047 gave me.  Here is my feeble attempt at a review of it!  I apologize that there is only one picture, but I wondered off and forgot the camera...

Prelight -

The wrapper had no flaws or soft spots and had a smell that reminded me of molasses.  I clipped the end and tested the draw - nice draw with a hay-like flavor.

First third -

I lit the cigar with my Z-plus loaded Zippo with ease.  The first puff went well, but I was surprised at the lack of spice - most Litto smokes I have had served a spicy kick right from the start.  This one delivered a sweet Maduro taste instead.  The flavors I got were bitter-sweet chocolate and toast with a sweet undertone.

Second third -

Sweet undertones get stronger - toasty flavor fades to the background while a black licorice flavor kicks in for a while.  The ash holds on well past the inch and a half mark with a nice grey color.  A nutty flavor develops.

Final third -

Sweet undertones remain with the nutty flavor coming out front with strong chocolate and mild coffe flavors mixed in as well.  Cigar did not get hot or bitter and always passed through the sinuses with ease.

Final thoughts-

This cigar caught me off guard.  I expected a Litto Spice bomb from my previous Litto experiences.  This is not like that at all.  It is a Strong medium - weak full bodied Maduro - with the flavors you would expect from a maduro - sweet, chocolate, nuts, coffee... - you get the picture.  This is a good Maduro with a nice burn and nice flavors.  Well worth a try for the many Maduro fans here on Stogie Chat.  Enjoy - Viva Litto!

Thanks for the opportunity to give the review!  I was wondering if you got the same flavors in the same spots that I did - apparently so!  If anyone has anything to add, I would love to hear it.  It may help me in naming flavors better so I may give better reviews in the future.
