in previous conversations about this, my understanding was that the wood for most cigar boxes aren't thick enough to hold the humidity the way a humidor does. It's been a while, but I think previous consensus was to buy at least some spanish cedar, maybe just to line a few sides.
just my .02, if the boxes work fine, then there's no reason to change.

Thanks for the insight. My buddy is getting it all ready today. I should have pictures to post next week. He is going to try just the boxes for now.
