Has anyone put in a new Wall Mount LCD TV?
#1
I'm looking for a good wall bracket to use for a 37" LCD TV. I'm seeing alot of different types. :?

Does anyone have any experience with them? I'm trying to find out what to look for & what to avoid.

Thanks!

I bought mine at Sears, very sturdy with big lag screws into the wall.  Not sure what brand it was off the top of my head but it has two bars that run horizontal and the bracket that attaches to the t.v. has two rows of hooks with swing up locks, you set the tv on the bars and then lock it down.  Jan just check out your local Best Buy or Circuit City for the different options

Depending were you put it you may want one that tilts and turns, instead of a fixed mount.

plenty to choose from here.....

I got mine at Sams Club.   About 1/2 the price and its great.   Not only does it tilt left/right, up/down, it can be pulled out from the wall about 24" so you can easily connect new devices.

I paid $95 for this about 8 months ago and it was a silver one.   Perhaps they are selling a different brand now.   The "extension" part is great.   Just got a Wii for xmas and it was very easy to pull the tv away from the wall and plug in.

I will tell you that its a SCARY thing putting those on the wall.   I didn't sleep well for the first few nights, fearing the midnight crash of the 250lb techno-square hitting the floor and killing the cat in the process.   Even when I extend the TV out to hook something in I do have someone in front supporting it.   The bracket will support it...but tell that to my wall AFTER its on the floor!  lol!

If I were to do it again, I would probably have it professionally installed.   If something goes wrong, you get a new TV.
