strong cedar smell
#11
I do note that nowhere in the eBay listing does it appear to specify that the cedar they use is Spanish cedar.

And since Spanish cedar isn't actually cedar at all, but a type of mahogany, any OTHER cedar is very definitely the WRONG cedar.

Edit to add . . .

Quote:Once the humidor is closed everything inside is sealed. The cedar smell will remain in the box giving positive effect on the flavor of your cigars.

Since that's NOT actually what the cedar in a humidor is for . . . *shrug*

I opened up the cedar chest and gave it a smell and then compared it to the humidor.  The humidor definitely does not smell the same and has mellowed out some so all is well.

Mine's from China also. I've developed a new urge to go bowling a lot more but other than that I seem uneffected.

It said:

"In order to provide savings for our customers and get the same value, portions of our humidor interior are made of cedar wood"

It doesn't say Spanish cedar? Next time, check with this forum before you buy and we can help advise you.

Unforunately from what I have heard is that easysources humidors are very low quality and have near no spanish cedar .This is just what I found when I was looking for my first humi so I dont guarantee its legitimacy .....But when most sellers are selling a similar humidor for$100 and her can sell it for $25 ..something is fishy to me ........ As the saying goes .....If it looks to good to be true ......
