i've got a few simple ideas for an entry.

Idea #1

film a nub burning form start to finish (you will need some sort of tube drawing on it) with a sideways clock in the background. Then at the end, turn the entire thing sideways showing the nub to be in a stand position.

(a little skill is needed here to replace the drawing tube with a clean cigar end). The clock should show 1 hour elapsed time. The film played back at speed so thins all gets done in 30 seconds. I'm thinking Strauss's Sprach Zarathustra playing in the background (theme form 2001 a Space Odyssey)

 

Idea #2

Maybe easier to set up and fun (no special video editing required).

Show a bunch of cigars all half smoked, all standing on end in a nub stand position. (you can make a board to do with with small wires sticking up and poking into the cigars to hold them). Then one or 2 at a time have the fall over (pull the wires form under the board) until there is only 1 standing. There's a ton of flashy catch-phrases you can use to slowly appear after they are all down but the nub. Of course the only suitable music here is the intro song for the jackazz movies (I have the name of this at home)

because of the work I do for Nub, I can't enter but I can do video editing and will help you guys out.
