Hi and welcome!   It will not void the warranty to put the hygro into an environment to place it in an environment where it can be tested...   may what you read was referring to the warranty being voided if you actually try to modify or recalibrate the hygro?

Yes, I am a new cigar smoker; however, back in the 1970's early 80's, I used to smoke a Montecruz (I think that was the brand, came in a yellow tube...maybe from the Canary Islands, not sure).  I just smoked a few now and then...usually during listening to one of the great fights between Ali and Frazier...Foreman...those were great fight days.

I got back to cigars during a recent trip to Eleuthera (in the Bahamas) and continued after ... I have really been studying up as there are so many varieties, strengths, etc., etc., not to mention the $$$.

Just recently smoked Rocky Patel Decade and this cigar really hit a home run with my tastes.  Also, I picked up a box of Casa Magna Robusto after I read a review in Cigar Aficianado...seemed like a good inexpensive smoke and I had been on the lookout for something affordable.  I really like the flavor and smoothness of the Casa and I was surprised that it scored top on CA's list for 2008.  Glad I bought this box before the contest results.  Also, I smoked a Sosa Wavell recently and thought the flavors were very nice...a milder smoke, but a beautiful ash, draw, etc.

I have been trying alot of cigars trying to find out what I like...Don Pepins, Padrons, Tempus by Alec Bradley was good but not as good as the Rocky Patel Decades.

I grew up in Indiana and moved to Massachusetts in 1989...I own a small landscape business...been doing that since the mid-70's.

Wife, three kids...one left at home (13 year old boy).  Been married 28 years.

Well, I guess that is all that comes to mind.  Later.
