The weather was pretty crummy this afternoon. It was windy and chilly. I wanted to smoke a cigar out in the hot tub, but I knew a long cigar with a big ring gauge would be nothing but trouble. I grabbed one of the smallest sticks in my humidor, a 4 7/8 x 40 Litto Gomez Oriental sent to me by the Robfather. I didn't know anything about the cigar.
Right after lighting it, I knew I was in for an intense experience. This is an incredibly spicy cigar. I usually don't get much mouth feel from any stick, but this thing literally burned my mouth. It was incredible. Most spicy smokes settle into a less spicy flavor after an inch or two, but this thing never did. For a couple of puffs from time to time the flavor would change to more prominent tobacco flavor, but that never lasted long before the spice came roaring back. A couple of minutes after nubbing it, I got online to check the prices for a box of them.

Litto's are a great stick in any size. The Americanos are my fav's as they still have a ring gauge on the smaller side but have a good length to them. They also do not mellow out, and considering they are pretty slow burning I usually average 1 1/2 - 2 hours on one... not to mention the incredible nicotine content usually has me feeling pretty giddy afterwards.
These are always present in my humidor. I have a few that have been aging a while, and I think I'll let them sit a bit longer... but not for too long. [cigar]

glad you enjoyed it brad. the original blend of the diez are being changed from what i understand to a small batch format with each year's release being different.
i bought out the last of the originals from eric at the party source. you may want to check around who still has the originals. make sure it's the originals in the cuban wheel of 50 not the new ones in boxes of 24 or so i believe.
maybe jack schwartz. good luck in your search.
Are these what you sent me Rob?
