I am not a new cigar smoker but still have a lot to learn about the different blends and different country tobacco varieties. I love trying new and different cigar blends but need some advice. I like medium or medium to strong cigars but don’t like the strong pepper bombs. Can someone advise me on what to look for in the blends and what varieties have such hot pepper spicy tobacco. I am hooked on YouTube cigar reviews but most of those cigars are very hard to find even on the internet. I usually smoke something in the $10-$20 range. I feel guilty if I spend more and don’t like it. Haha. Happy to finally join and look forward to any advice I can get.

Hi Kip, where are you from?
Have you tried the Oliva cigars? The Serie V Melanio is one I like. It's blended with specially fermented Jalapa Valley ligero, and finished with a high priming original Cuban seed grown Wrapper. Flavor notes are coffee and dark chocolate tones. Subtle notes of pepper spice but not crazy and also has that barn yard smell to it.
The wrapper is Ecuador, the binder & filler are Nicaragua.

Welcome from California --
Maybe try some of the offering from Foundation Cigars for some strength without the over-peppered flavors that some blenders seem to fall back on.

Hello and welcome from south central PA.
Strength is a bit less subjective than taste.
The two I'd recommend (but I dont have all the details that Jimmie does), are:
1) Drew Estates, Undercrown. Medium to medium strong and great flavor. Never peppery. Good with whiskey or bourbon. I dont drink beer so I dont know about that.
2) 601 Daytona. Medium Good on a saturday morning with coffee, or saturday evening with bourbon or whiskey.
...moving along...nothing left to see here.
