My Cigar Journey

[Mavric]

This post is going to be my journey though testing new cigars to me. At time of post I have been smoking off and on for about 3 years. With most of that time smoking Acid blue label cigars. But recently have been pulled deeper into cigars. Please keep in mind in no way am I a cigar tester and still have a long way to go to develop my palate.  At the end of each cigar will be the page # and post # (Pg. x Post x) for said cigar. So take a trip with a noobie on his journey sampling cigars.

Nice even burning cigar with a light fluffy ash. Seems like a pritty strong cigar and find myself not puffing on it like I normally would. Which is probably why I only smoked half of it. Got hints of flavors I cant place my finger on and a nutty flavor here and there with a tobbaco after taste. For some reason I get the feeling this may be a good cigar with whiskey. Overall I liked the cigar but cant say I enjoyed it. Will have to try it again with a glass of whiskey and see how that goes.

Room 101 The Big Payback Maduro Robusto

First impression was a strong bitter taste. After about an inch or so it started to mellow out. Picked up some what of a woodiness to it. Ash was white and slightly firm, it also had a nice easy draw. Overall I enjoyed it and would smoke it again.

Alec Bradley Project 40 Maduro Robusto

This is the second time I have tried this cigar and still not impressed with it. Its supposed to be a 50 ring gauge, but it seems to be closer to a 48 compared to my other 50's. The draw is firm and I believe that is from the cigar being rolled to tight. Ash is grey in color and very stiff again I believe this is from the cigar being rolled to tight. The biggest problem I have with this cigar is half way threw it I always get a tar taste and it completely turns me off from wanting to smoke it any further. If it was not for that I would use it as a yard gar as it doesn't have any flavors that stand out to me. But up to that point its not a bad cigar either.

I V cut the first one and punched the second. I noticed I like the larger ring gauge cigars punched.
