It is time for me
#1
Well, with The Mum's thread out there, I thought I'd share as well.

Here is the link to my property schedule for selling my home in Elgin.

The market is just starting to pick up again in the area, but is slow to say the least and we have accepted the fact that we will not get what we paid for the property during the height of the housing market in the UK almost 7 years ago .... however, it is what it is, and like I said to the Mum, the pro's far out weigh the conns when we sit down and actually think about it.

The down side for me is that the market in Aberdeen is its own beast, and a good example of the difference in property prices in comparison to Elgin run is that the very same construction company are building the very same house models in Elgin ..... the difference in price is £95,000 though ............ seriously, it hurt when I saw that.

No point in moaning about it, I'll save about £6,000 per year on fuel costs alone, so its a win ...... in a roundabout way, and I'll be back with family (my parents are getting frail) and friends.

Here is the schedule link to my country retreat on the rural outskirt of Elgin in Scotland .... 10 minute walk from Glen Moray distillery and a max of 30 minutes drive from the rest of the Spey side distilleries.

Here is the link to the Cairnrobin development that we have bought our plot on. Its frightening to think that the house size and foot print of grounds within the plot are so expensive in comparison to what we could buy for the equivalent amount in the USA, but its a manageable size for us to retire in to and I have already set plans in motion for building a sun room on to the property within the first 12 months so that we avoid paying any VAT (tax).

If you open the development map ..... our house is plot 43.

I cant wait.

Congrats Dave, you and the family deserve the very best.

So when can I ( and the Mrs.) visit?

That seems like an aggressive build time for the winter months.

Fishing is much more than fish. It is the great occasion when we may return to the fine simplicity of our forefathers.

Your liver will never be the same again and Donna may like the place so much that you get on the flight home alone. All I'll say is that the beach glass and cashmere could sell the place, even before the majestic highlands and centuries old castles reach for her heart as the haunting melody of a distant piper travels on the mist and the breeze.

God I'm homesick and drunk ...... never a good mixture.
