I can only find a couple reviews on this model and both have only had them for a few weeks. Can anyone provide reviews, thoughts on these? I like the idea of heat, AC, humidity control all in one unit.
Thx

Quality is a good company and backs up there stuff and I have bought from them for years.

I don't think the electronics would stand the test of time because they sure aren't the first to do that. There are some solid wood hand mades in Italy that are to kill for but 3 times the $$. If you have the coin then do it.
.
We cross our bridges when we come to them and burn them behind us, with nothing to show for our progress except a memory of the smell of smoke, and a presumption that once our eyes watered.

I'm not happy with the statement "There’s not a whole lot of cedar in this unit but who needs it with the built in Hydra humidification technology". This is ridiculous. Cedar is used because a warm moist environment is ideal for mold growth. Cedar is toxic to mold. I dont know what this thing is made of, but I would be cautious.
Other ridiculous statements (with no reflection on the humidor)
"A cigar humidor you don’t need to season" BULL!!!!!!!!!!! Using an active humidification device seems to lend itself to the idea you don't need to season it, but, unlike when using a passive device (evaporation only) the active unit will work overtime to bring up the humidity to your setting and in so doing will saturate your cigars. They will be wet for a period of time. Especially those near the humidifier.
"Just get a shipment of stogies in and worried that they got a little dried out on the journey to your front porch? No problem, just dial up the humidity for a day to 80% and pump in some extra humidity" Do I really have to comment on this? Seriously, you just got in 20 cigars. Your humidor is already holding 700 cigars. You are going to ruin the wrappers on the 700 cigars so you can speed up acclimating your new cigars to what... 80% And what do you think will happen to those wrappers? No. Leave it at 65 and let nature do what it has to do. If you are a humidity fanatic, just dont smoke any of those new cigars for a week or so. After all you have over 700 others to play with.
"Going out of town and worried about the possibility of a cigar bug or two ruining your entire collection while you’re gone? No problem, just dial down the temperature to 55 to keep them at bay" what... you dont worry about beetles when you're home? Or... what, you know you have eggs ready to hatch? Come on, give me a break. Who writes this stuff?
I like the blue light... It will hold back mold somewhat. I like the unit, but, for gods sake, dont go by this review. I dont like the lack of cedar.

ok, I just saw the price of this humidor...
$1,799.99
sorry, for that kind of money I would go with the aristocrat. Everyone here would agree with that too.

I have an aristocrat plus
http://www.aristocrathumidors.com/aristocratplus.htm
and an end table
http://www.aristocrathumidors.com/aristocrat.htm
the humidification system in these units are WAY superior to the hydra units used in the monolith and it's all made of the finest spanish cedar. Incredible hand-made quality.
If you want to spend more money and need the space, look at the aristocrat m+
http://www.aristocrathumidors.com/aristocrat.htm (still a few bucks cheaper too)
Get a load of the options:

That's what I really like about this site. I am a newbie but someone with much more knowledge has always been able to answer my questions. Thx for the feedback, they are having a scratch and dent sale for $799 which is why I am considering it. If its going to cost much more than that I would continue on with my coke machine conversion....

Well... for that kind of money... the real virtue of this unit seems to be the temperature control mechanism. Most of us do fine without that. If you need it, then consider onward.. (make sure the scratch and dent does not interfere with the functionality of the equipment)
If not, then take another look at the aristocrats.
They are all fine furniture and very very customizable.
