Storing in fridge?
#21
Links to P0RN sites is not allowed under our TOS. I am the one who sent Buckh a PM about it and changed his URL until he had a chance to put something else there. Someone with 8 posts under their belt on StogieChat really has not been here long enough to know the ropes and how our community works. On most other forums the user would have been terminated pretty quick because it would have been considered spam, especially given the content of the link. I gave him a chance to get with the program since his posts show a good interest in our community.

Moving forward, this is a CIGAR forum and such it will remain. Other topics and links do arise, but because many folks view the site from work we do not want the site blocked due to "pornography" links. It is hard enough to keep whitelisted just because of the tobacco references on the site. The TOS for the forum clearly states such content is not allowed.

Now Max, you have been here quite a long time. By your post I can only assume that you personally know Buckh to make such a statement.
"it's outright insulting to him personally... "

Perhaps Buckh may have assumed it was "ok" since he saw your posts with the P0RN sig tags. Now that its been brought to everyones attention, your sig tag needs changed or removed as well. Because you have so many posts under your belt here on SC I suppose that nobody flagged your account as being in violation with our TOS. I certainly cannot enforce the TOS on Buckh and not you for the exact same thing.

I don't think there are many guys on the forum that does not enjoy some occasional P0RN (I personally like Scarlett Storm on your page...), but its not about that. We don't want the site blacklisted, nor do we want to offend the few ladies that actually do stumble across our forum.

Thank you!

For the record... What I considered insulting to Buck wasn't the removal of his sig link, but replacing it with a link to Disney.com

Actually, we're shooting with Scarlett on Monday, both for Cigar Vixens, and a project for Buck. I'll be sure to give her your best Eric...
Enjoy!

Thanks Max! Nothing like a redhead with tattoos....all sewn up!

I've stumbled across MANY P0RN sites that "ask" if the visitor is underage, or not. Many times when you click the NO/Underage, you are directed to Disney.com which is practically the least offensive site one can find on the net. After Vanessa Hudgens I think some would beg to differ, but that too is a good example of how just a little P0RN in the wrong place can cause quite a situation and tarnish a good sites name. Thanks for understanding.

I have never put my sticks in the fridge but a buddy of mine left one in for a few weeks and then gave it to me. I let it sit in the humi for awhile and it was decent.

Good idea... Punched Ahhhhh, nothing like free cigars! Ok ok, serious question... The Boveda 1-step seasoning pack said seasoning takes 2 weeks. I'm shocked as my humi is only 9.6" wide by 3.5" high and 8" long. I assume the 2 week suggestion varies?

No way, wipe it down with distilled water, not wet just wipe. In fact put some distilled water or water in the microwave until it steams. Put it in the humi and shut the lid.
If you use water, then don't wipe it with water , wipe it with distilled water. Wait a while and check the humidity.

I would advise not letting the water steam, just make it warm. Too hot and it can warp the wood especially in a smaller humidor. Also, if you put the water in a cup that will not be used long term in the humidor, you can use tap water. Just never put the tap water directly on your humidor, the wood or the humidification device. A half filled coffee cup set inside is 100% fine.

The purpose of heating the water is to add energy. This will translate into a more active evaporation and thus season the humidor more quickly. Any heat at all will help. 200 degrees isn't necessary. Any heat at all is good. 100 to 150 degrees is more than enough.

One last word of advice, if you opt to wipe the humidor down with distilled water, use a clean rag. Do not use any used rags or sponges. They are likely to have mold spores in them and this will give you grief later on.
