Day 2 pics....we had a busy day today of other activities, but managed to do some work on the build.
Inside the mother board box...more parts...
and the motherboard...
The CPU box & parts....
The CPU...
The motherboard...with labels....F'ing labels...
and without...
The CPU locked down on the motherboard...it went on very easy...easier than I expected.
The CPU heatsink & fan upside down...
The heatsink & fan locked down onto the CPU...this was harder than I expected. It took quite a bit of force to hook on the fan onto the mounting clips & then to lock it into position.
Putting the standoffs on inside the case.... The case was marked inside where to put the standoffs depending on what type of motherboard you had.
Mounting the motherboard in the case...was pretty easy, but some standoffs were not needed at all & I think there might be 1 or 2 holes in the mother board that didn't line up with any standoffs. I not sure if those are actual mounting holes. We'll take another look at it tomorrow.

Jan... a word of caution. This is a bad time to handling delicate computer parts. Th low humidity promotes static charges which can annihilate some chips. It's been humid these last 2 days, but run a humidifier or vaporizer in the room for an hour or so before you begin work on it. And make sure you are grounded.
Also, cable management, have you considered those spring looking coil/tube things? I like them better than ties cause they can be removed without diagonals and using dikes in a cable cluster is always frightening.
I'll see if I can find a picture of this stuff. It's basically a flexible tube cut radially that you weave onto your bundle. At least 3 weaves and it will hold fine. Of course you can do more. On my boat all my cable bundles are completely encase with this stuff.

Thanks Skip! After I read the warning earlier, I noticd it at work when out in the shop I got zapped by a coworker. There might not be any activity tonight on the project. Homework comes first & then at 8PM, he has his first PAL Basketball game of the year.
That wire wrap stuff looks good. I'm more worried right now of plugging all the connectors into the correct spots.

Not really...pretty straight forward at this point...that may change later when we have to connect all the wires. The most difficult thing so far was securing the CPU heatsink/fan to the board.

Just match the male to female plugs. I actually watched All of the vids I found on the build. THAT rang my bell on what's wrong with my PC and the thermal grease stuff because my fan running a 100 miles an hour.
