Saturday was the end of the Mum's exciting cruise to Alaska. The ship docked at the Seattle waterfront and all the passengers were kicked off and told to get home. But not the Mum. "I'm in Seattle and I'm gunna see this place."
Ta da da dah! Bobgun to the rescue! My wife and I met the Mums at their nice hotel, exchanged greetings and ventured out into a great NW sunny day.
We caught the monorail from downtown out to Seattle Center where the famous Space Needle was awaiting a ride to the top. 43 seconds later we were about 600 feet up gazing out at the Puget Sound, the Cascade and Olympic Mountains, Mt Rainier and the Seattle skyline. We got to look down on the ship they disembarked not to long ago and hear about their adventure in the wild Alaska frontier (& how he did at the craps table).
We went down to the famous Pike Place Market and wandered around the 500 shops and hordes of sun worshipers. (When the sun comes out here, all the cockroaches start to scurry).
We enjoyed more stories of the Alaska cruise over a nice NW flavored luncheon.
We had a great time wandering around Seattle with Jimmy and his cool wife.
Both of our wives remarked about how cigars and the internet were able to get people together they have never met.
There was one major problem with this herf. Washington is so afraid of second-hand smoke we weren't allowed to go into any public place to sit and enjoy a relaxing cigar and enjoy the moment even more. So this was an almost-herf for me.
A family emergency called us away so we couldn't stay up until 5AM like we did at the 1st ND herf. But, it was still great to meet up with the famous Mum again and his wonderful wife.
I called him later that evening and was glad to hear he was able to get together with Carl and Russell and Smokin Nic back up in the park area around the Space Needle and have a real herf.
SC....Got to love this place!!!!
