I would never intentionally wet a cigar in water!

5 maybe 10 minutes after running the water over the cigar. I really couldn't tell it was ever wet....I didn't check my watch, but it wasn't very long

Here's my take...
If you ever had a fresh rolled cigar, it is nearly this wet. The roller will spray the wrapper leaf to get it wet and pliable. Once this is done this cigar must be smoked within 24 hours or let it sit for 2 months. Now some personal experience. Around a month ago I was thoroughly enjoying a rare and old cigar when my buddy decided to cross his legs. He bumped the ashtray my cigar was resting in, it fell hit my leg and landed head first into my scotch. I pulled it out in seconds. I trashed to scotch (broke my heart) and let the cigar sit for 10 minutes. With a new scotch in hand I relit the now infused cigar (it was macallans 18). The experience was horrible. The draw was tight as all hell and the cigar would not stay lit. I suspect that's because my scotch went into the foot of the cigar. This lunatic is advocating wetting it in such a way that the water touches only the wrapper. ... I say "why?". I love them the way they are. Dirty little things! |
