Dropped my V-cutter... grrrrrr

A Cat's Eye V Cut is different in that it cuts deeper into the cap like a "cats eye"...hence the name. A straight cut only shaves off the portion from where you want the cut...the Cats Eye will start at the edge and then dip into the head and come out on the other side like it started. I love this cut on every type of cigar and it's great on torpedos or any other type of cigar with a tapered head. A good Cats Eye cutter is going to cost you but you get what you pay for with this style.

I have to say I find your comment insulting. Yes, you do get what you paid for but my V cutter is over 3 years old that I paid less then $25.00. I dropped it and abused it and am still pleased with the cut.
I cannot afford nor do I want to pay up to $200 for the little guy.
I'm very happy with my cutter and the ones i have given to members of this forum and I have had no "inherent problem".
I'm glad you like your cats eye cutter but I also love my $25.00 V cutter.
If a member in this forum likes a $4.00 stogie then good for him. I would not tell him you got what you paid for.
Bob Gun dropped his cutter, it broke.

I'm gonna send him a imitation V cutter (or give it to him when I'm in Seattle).
Why don't you send him a cats eye and he can decide which one he likes.Tongue

Didn't we just have this conversation in another thread. I agree with Mum on this, your cutter may be great and work but the cutter that alot of the members have works perfect also. The same cutter that Mr. Mum is talking about is the same cutter I use to have(use to have because i lost it, not because it was bad). That cutter held up and did its job perfect, never had a problem once with it and thats where I'm not understand the "you get what you pay for comment".

UMMMMM.... tuff decisions.... We can test them out at the Pike Street Market when they throw the fish and see which one guts the fish the best.
Freakin' ray of sunshine, ain't I.

man, didn't mean to start a whole discussion on the subject. i have the famous cutter, and after my snafu of the first cut or two with it, i love it. i also bought a wolf v cutter when i decided i wanted to try the v cut. it's not nearly as good as the famous one. not even close. but i heard great things about the wolf one, and expected a little more out of it. was quite disappointed with it, really. which is why i was asking bobgun about his. possibly i just got a bad one? it seems like i have to slice it 3 times to get through the cap. where with the famous one, i take a nice big chunk out first time every time. that's all. sorry for starting a wrong turn in this thread.

My fault completely, I took Cigary's comment the wrong way.
Everyone should have an opinion.
For the price, the famous V cutter is great. I'm sure the cat's eye is better but it's about $200.00 for the little guy.

Opinions are great thats what makes us human. If everyone was the same life would be boring.

So with that being said if I personally offeneded anyone, here is my public apologies.
