My uncle just put a fiberglass bedding kit on his remington last year, and tightened up his group significantly.
With that said, my groups got MUCH larger when i bedded my ruger. Its one of life's little mysteries, like women.

there were no kits when we did it. It was all by eye and feel.
I think the difference is between a cold and a hot gun, otherwise it should be the same.
I never shot competatively with a rifle, certinly not an '06. But I did shoot pistol and have a few NRA awards. One day I could do no wrong and took home first place, but I have to admit that was luck. 25 yards & ever hole touched.
Today I couldn't see the target at 25 yards.

I did check out the Savage with the acutrigger and I have looked at Browning. Dang so many choices out there. I think that with what tank stated about the Savage that I shall have to revisit it.
I also have to think about what G said aswell. Glass does make a Whole Lot of Difference! I am currently looking at Nikon and Leo.
Now the Big Question is what mounts and rings to use?????
