I use to be that way but NOT QUITE that anal. I always called it being a desk jockey. I use to date stamp mags I got in the mail. My desk was the control center.

I label all my boxes the same way, date purchase, amount paid and like Tank said I label all my stogie gifts.

I label boxes I've purchased using those price stickers for yard sales. I usually record the date purchased unless the box is labeled with a production date sticker.
