Thai is the closest you had. I have fallen in love with Vietnamese food, big time. I can't eat Pho' anymore as I am allergic to beef. However, Bun and any assortment of other goodies rocks. At my local place they know my family and actually don't pull punches on the peppers for the white folks. They always make sure that the real chili sauce is on the table as well as the "rooster" sauce.
My Little one always gets "punk rock" points for being able to use chopsticks and trying new stuff every time she goes. She has determined she will work her way through their menu. Frith- Odsman

Thai beer is also quite nice if you ever get the chance NANP.

I like jewish deli's....the gang in LI and Brooklyn should no Katz's deli on E.Housten,by Ludlow.Yummy pastrami and corned beef. Tabachnics for you Jersey folks,there deli is creme of the crop and great homemade soups....just dont buy there frozen soup line in the stores,its crap.
