I've seen this kid and others like him. What a gift.

Amazing.
I've got a nephew who's been playing classical piano since he was about that kid's age. It's a wonderful thing, having a talent like that.

Don't underestimate the amount of time kids like that put in. They may have considerable aptitude, but it's the passion for practice that is the real gift.

Chris is one amazing child, parents should try to get their children to lean music at young ages.

My younger son has tremendous aptitude, but he lacks discipline. He's been playing piano since he was 5 and by the time he was 12 he won an award in a state-wide competition for a composition he titled "Tremors" (which is my cell phones ring-tone for him).
But when he turned 14 he decided he wanted to give up the piano and learn the guitar... He learned form Billy Joel's lead guitarist, Joe something... Anyway, this Joe guy never taught him any songs, just technique telling him to learn the songs on his own. After 4 years he gave that up too.
Now he's 23, he plays the piano mostly to impress chicks (& it works too) and teaches it on the side...
He can still play mostly every song he mastered for his annual recitals without music.... but he is at a fraction of the ability he was at when he was 12-14.

It's that passion for practice that really does it. You have to be willing to put in months of solitary confinement for a 5 minute opportunity to be on stage. Not everyone - even those with real ability - can deal with that. It's easy to say we wish that those we love would follow up on their talents, but for them to do it is another thing altogether.
