Smoking Routines...
#1
I was having a discussion tonight with a few buddies as we smoked some cigars at the local shop. We were discussing about the mass amount of various singles we have been collecting as of late.

With that in mind, the concern was how avid cigar smokers work this in to their rotation. I mean, is there a particular rotation? I know you cannot judge a cigar by just smoking it one time. Maybe sometimes you can. But what are you guys doing? Are you staying with one particular cigar or two until that box is finished. Or do you work in various smokes....or both? Maybe by this method, you can really find out if that brand is worth buying again?

Lately it has been a free for all with me. I was never the one to just burn through a particular box at one given time. For the past 11 years, I have always smoked different brands during the week. Of course I have favorites...but do you see what I am getting at? I am asking in general...not to get specific with brands...but just your routine....because I have been thinking of changing up mine.

I like to mix up my cigars.  When I do get a box, I usually smoke a bunch of them for a week or so, then wind up going to mixing it up again.  I never decide what to smoke until I'm actually ready to smoke
Never argue with an idiot. They will drag you down to their level and beat you with experience.

I always keep a nice mix of singles and boxes of my favs. I'll have 2-3 cigars a day,so I'll have a favorite like LFD chisle and then a single or two like GH#5 or a connie.[rob]

Depends COMPLETELY on my mood and the moment as to what I reach for.  Kind of like MikeD, I'll go for a couple of singles out of a new box then let the rest of the box rest to see how it changes over say 3 to 6 months.  That's when I decide tobuy more or not.  I wonder if any of us ever really get to the point where we only buy a couple or 3 brands and blends.

Good topic PiPs.
My mind is a raging torrent, flooded with rivulets of thought cascading into a waterfall of creative alternatives.

I do the same as Headley.  I just go to the humis look to see what sparks my interest.  Some days it's a Cam. and others its a Mad., some days it's a Toro, or Robusto and others it's a Churchill.

Everything in my humidor is in my rotation since I only stock what I like to smoke. On any given day I never know what I will be smoking until I pull open the singles drawer and settle on something.

Ding!

& I'll add that usually if I go in with any sort of pre-conceived notion of what I want, once I start looking around in there my mind changes.

Never the same cigar in a row.I smoke whatever cigar I feel like smokeing at that time.I wouldn't have it any other way.

I do have an over abundance of some varieties so I throw them in more often during the weeks smokeing routine.but there is nothing routine about my smokeing habits.
I still like buying singles that I never smoked before. If it is pleasurable I may buy more for later but if it didnt smoke right or tasted off or young I buy more and rest them to try at a later date.

I love trying new smokes.
