I JUST NOW RECIVED THIS from Rocky Patel

WE NEED YOU TO ACT TODAY!!!!!!!

Call the members of the Ways and Means Committee today, especially if you live in their district. Tell them that:

1. a 1,952% cigar tax increase would put you out of business

2. the bill being proposed would raise your retail prices by 70%

3. no other product has ever been subject to such an exorbitant tax - the tax on a can of beer is only a nickel, the tax on a liter of a $150 bottle of wine is only 30¢ - so a $1.00 tax on a $4.50 cigar is outrageous

4. you want them and their committee to remove this massive cigar tax increase from this legislation

The entire list of the Ways and Means Committee members is listed below with contact phone numbers. Please call the committee member(s) who is (are) in your district (or closest to your district) no later than noon, Thursday, July 26.

It takes only a minute to place the call but it could make a huge difference in the future of our industry. Thank you for our prompt action.
