Backgammon

Recently I have been invited to a private club to smoke cigars and the members there play there all of the time - usually for money which, like most things in this club - is beyond me.

There is also an article on the world series of backgammon in this months CA. 

I enjoy playing, and have for a few years, but I am far from good.

Anyone else play?

I'd like to learn but I know nothing about the game!  All the Asian kids in Prepschool played but they pretty much kept it to themselves and told us americans to go play poker - which we did!

I used to play in the Seabees, on deployment (anything to pass the time) but I'm slooooooow . . . and when you watch someone who knows WTF they're doing, the first thing you notice is they go FAST. Really, really fast. hock:

I wouldn't play for money to save my life. :?
