Tatuaje Havana VI - Nobles

Tatuaje Havana VI - Nobles

Country: Nicaragua
Wrapper: Nicaraguan
Filler: Nicaraguan
Size: Robusto

Every since a friend at work recommended the Tatuaje Havana VI line I have been looking forward to trying one of these cigars, it was referred to as milder cigar that could rival a Cuban. That was enough to peak my interest on the line and once I found a sampler online it was easy to pull the trigger.

Hype: 10 - Likely my own fault in anticipation of what a collaborative effort by Don Pepin Garcia and Pete Johnson cigar would smoke like.

Construction: a beautiful dark chocolate wrapper with a triple cap.

Wow Factor: Perhaps it was the high expectations I set beforehand but I found this cigar lacking complexity and bit one dimensional. While the burn was flawless and I did not have any issues with the draw to distract me from the experience but I was left desiring for more. There was an initial presence of spice but once it subsidized I found undistinguishable flavors that not only I could not identify, which is not necessarily a bad thing since I lack expertise,  but were  not captivating.

I look forward to trying the other sizes in this sampler and I will not be surprised if the Noble is not my favorite one once it’s all said and done. I will likely try another one again in the future just to make sure where it stands.

I also intend to order a new sampler including the Cabaiguan line and the much stronger Cazador/brown label, specifically the Noella that I’ve seen so much around here.

I am not a big fan of this line....exept the Victorias....those thin cigars give you lots of good TAT Spice, but for the most part not a fan of the rest.

Nice Review Riofan, smoke the rest of the sizes to see which one you like

Not only do I not know what's going on, I wouldn't know what to do about it if I did.

I havent smoked that many of this line since I love the Brown label and Cabaiguans.  I have had a few of them though and feel almost the same way until I tried the Victorias and I really got the flavors of this line of tats. After that I was able to enjoy the rest of the Havana VI line. I dont know how to explain it but i was able to pick up a lot of flavors from the victoria and then pick out subtle hints of them in the other sizes.

Nice review though RioFan!!

Nice pics, I like these stogies for when I want more of a mild smoke like mid morning or so. Were they aged at all?

Appreciate your review..

Nice review, Rio. Even though the Tat Brown is my daily stick of choice, I just finished a box of the VI Angeles and will continue to go back to. Everything that is lacking in the Nobles is found here. As with the Noellas in the Cabinet line, the smaller ring gauge and length in this petit corona allows the spice and complexity to shine through. Pepin's blending talents, to me, are so much more noticeable in smaller ring gauges (50 and below), allowing more of his trademark twang to come through. Let me know what what you think after burning.

Thanks Jimmie.  I imagine the cigars were pretty young since they were part of a sampler, the same one that contained the Illusiones. I have decided to let the rest of the sampler rest for a while. I went back and got another sampler + added a Noellas and that I liked much better.

Not that you guys need more sources but ordered the samplers from New Havana Cigars and while I'm not an expert on prices their customer service, quality and promptness has been top notch.
