The newest newletter from Cigar Insider featured these cigars. This line is to comemorate their 10 year anniversary and they evidently used the best aged tobacco that they could find. Long story short is that the entire line of the Black Pearl Morado's scored in the 90's with one of the sizes getting a 93.
The Morado also uses a deep purple packaging as purple associates with royalty. The box and whole presentation looks spectacular and rivals San Cristobal in my opinion. ![]()

I have a Cigar Insider membership! Hehe, I neverever look at that anymore...totally forgot I had it.
Here's an excerpt: Country: Nicaragua Maker: Latin Cigars de Nicaragua S.A. Distributor: Burlwood Group Inc. Filler: Nicaragua Binder: Nicaragua Wrapper: Cameroon Release Date: October 2007 BRAND SUMMARY: The Morado was first shown behind a glass case as a concept cigar at the 2005 Retail Tobacco Dealers of America trade show, but its official release was continually post- poned due to wrapper shortages and blend adjustments. When brand owner Doug Wood was satisfied with the cigar (and had enough wrapper to sustain the brand), he launched it in 2007. The word morado means purple in Spanish, and the cigars come in purple boxes. This vertical was very impressive, as no cigar scored less than 90 points. The Cameroon wrapper and Nicaraguan blend worked best with the Torpedo, which scored 93 points. Average Rating: 91.3 points
