"Cigar Aficionado's" Top 25 for 2007

US_Tank Wrote:Yeah, we all have personal tastes for sure.  I really enjoyed the Vision my first time around.  I obtained another one at the $16/stick cost at my B&M shop.  I like it just as much.  The manager noticed that I stop by weekly and we struck up a conversation.  I educated him about San Cristobal's and he is now carrying that line.

I am not one to ask for freebies nor do I suckhole to get them.  But I frequent this store often with its walk-in humidor, and First Class liquor selections.  Largest in ND and MN outside of the twin cities.  The General Manager is a friend of mine and he introduced me to the cigar manager.  And as I mentioned, he always comments on my Friday afternoon visits.  Lately I received from him gifts of Ashton samplers, another COA Vision, the CAO Vision humidor, and some Pepin Blue Label Exclusivosos.

I have never heard of the Dunhill.  Is it any good?  And some of you talk about the Illusione cigars.  Are they worth trying?  Seems this CG:4 should be good?
I like the Illusione's a lot, but you have to watch with this cigar. They have had trouble meeting demand. The last boxes I got where too young and need some rest. They were a little on the bitter and harsh side, nothing 6 months in the humi won't cure.

I can speak to the Dunhill Signed Range, the new to the range PC's were available at a cigar dinner I attended a few weeks ago. I really enjoyed them and bought a box from my local B&M, The Cigar Monkey, the next morning.

The M5 Secretos, are and remain my favorite cigar of 2007 with the Por Laranaga Magnifico's breathing down their neck at number 2.

The M5 is the ISOM smoke on my "Must Try" list.  I have never tried a Por Laranaga but plan to.  My favorite smoke of 07 was the Sancho Panza Belicoso.  I don't think I ever enjoyed a cigar so much as that one.   Now I need to smoke another one to compare it to my beloved Monte #2.

I went through the previous years top 25 -  I noticed many of the same cigars were in the top 25 year after year.  Especially the Padrons.  I guess it shows that these will be great smokes year after year.  I think I'll have to put those on my list...
