The disease has, in very short order, caused me to lose my job~career as a welder and my fiancé.

I began smoking at the repeated suggestions (not advice) of a doctor, who suggested (not advised) that I do so because of mounting evidence that tobacco use can possibly delay and/or subdue some of the effects of Parkinson's disease. Until a few weeks ago, my lifetime experience with tobacco consisted of:
Not liking the smell of cigarettes.
Never even seeing someone smoke a cigar.
The smell of my great-uncle's pipe from childhood.

Armed with that vast wealth of knowledge, I went to the only convenience store in town and purchased the only type of pipe available (cheap, plastic, Chinese) and a couple packages of the only pipe tobacco available (Sir Walter Raleigh). From that day on, I have been smoking 8-10 times a day, which isn't as much as it probably sounds like considering my pipe's bowl size. My experience with tobacco has not increased too much over the past 6 weeks:
I have no reason to think that the smell of cigarettes would be any more pleasant than before.
I have read quite a bit about cigars but still have not even seen someone smoking one.
Sir Walter Raleigh is not the tobacco my uncle used to smoke but I do enjoy smoking it.
