I think the only "gimmicky" part of it is that they added that extra maduro wrapper......not unlike added that extra razorblade to my morning shave

It's a good cigar and one I think that will produce some amazing flavors given some time. Not too much time, unfortunately, as it's not a powerhouse.
That being said, It runs around $10 right? That's too much for me, but there are surely folks out there that will love love love and (or not have the kind of $$ restrictions I do) and buy these up by the box.
Me? I've got 3 that I'm going to hide in the humi for a while.
