Caveat Emptor - 'Buyer' Beware

In a recent issue of CA, a certain cigar vendor out of Canada had a full page ad offering a free cigar of your choice.  You could choose one of 8 different cigars, 4 NC and 4 ISOM.  I chose an NC Davidoff as I had never had one before. 

Got my package today, nicely packaged Davidoff box.  Inside the box was an AF Chateau Fuente.  Ok, so I shouldn't complain.  It didn't cost me anything and they have not been bombarding me with mail or spam, but such a move makes me not ever want to try ordering from them.  pm me if you want the vendor.

Also, I've read on the board where some place called cvm will send you free cigars for the price of shipping.  Seems everyone who orders them is disappointed.

So the moral is,  if it seems to good to be true, let someone else try it first.

well, at least you got a pretty good freebie. i've only done this type of thing once... i think it was a zino thing, and it worked out fine.

I have, however, received freebies from Montecristo (Dominican) and Torano and those worked out fine.  But those were not vendors.  I went to each company's website and they had the offers posted there.

I ordered an isom Cohiba and recived it
