- Good_Stogies_Mon - 06-24-2008 Pre light: One whiff of this cigars dark oily wrapper and I knew exactly what the Doc means when he says âbarn yardâ this thing smelled like that cattle barns at the state fair. Construction was top notch. The draw, like all of the Taboo that I have smoked so far was real easy. Post light: To be quite honest starting out I was a little disappointed with this smoke. Maybe I got it to hot but I lit it as I normally do and the first few puffs were harsh and flavorless. But soon it settled down and started to pick up some of the typical maduro flavors, sweet and leathery, subtle but there. It also had some not so maduro like spice probably due to the Nicaraguan origin of this cigar. The burn could have been better but the draw remained great. About half way through the sweetness started to evolve into more of a nutty flavor and the leathery finish remained as well as a hint of spice. The flavors of this cigar are subtle and certainly not over powering. All in all I would put this cigar at a medium strength and mild flavor. I would like to try a few more of these before making a final judgment call but so far after the initial harshness I would say I liked this one. ![]() - steve047 - 06-24-2008 looking forward to smoking a Taboo - MK 199 - 06-24-2008 I will have to try and get my hands on one to try.
