Need suggestions for travel humi or cigar case. - Macleod - 01-08-2015

I need help with a late Christmas gift.  I know if is late,  but I was given any ideas until just Christmas Eve.  My brother wants a two to five (ten max) travel humi he can keep in the car.  He doesn't want a plastic one, leather and stainless steel would work, alligator would work, or any suggestions.  I was surprised that I couldn't find a leather over plastic one.  If anyone had any ideas, they would be greatly appreciated.

If he's gonna keep it in the car with cigars in it than I would  go with a plastic case. You can buy some nice ones or even have
mad4maduro, a cigar artist and a member of this forum paint you something on it. He does great work.

Depending on the leather case (most are not sealed) they will not keep the levels that the plastic ones will. . Keeping the humidor airtight will help maintain the humidity and preserve your cigars longer.

I have a 5, 10 and 30 plastic count along with a few leather pocket cases.

I'll take the plastic ones any day.

Yeah, like Jimmie said...the leather cases will not have a good seal.  For going out for the night with 2 or 3 cigars, they're okay, but for any travel, I'd used one of the hard plastic cases.  I have a 5 count case that I bought yeas ago on C-bid. It's a "Herf-a-Dor" by Humi-Care.  I use this most of the time, even when I'm just taking them out on the patio.  For larger travel, I have a larger case that will hold something close to 50 or so.  I don't use that as much.

Fiedl Supply has a few different ones for sale right now.  I'm not sure how those prices are on them as I haven't shopped for a case in a while.  But I have found some really good cigar deals from them...even on Padrons.

He was adamant that he didn't want plastic. He doesn't plan to keep it in the car at all times. If he's is going to be found out he'll bring it with him in the morning before work, if he buys some during lunch, or if he is taking a domestic flight for work he would use it.
