hobbies and such - Hunlock - 09-06-2010

I thought that it might be cool to have a thread where our brothers can post pics, stories, or ideas related to hobbies or favorite pastimes they might have beside cigars. Anyone care to play along?

I'll kick it off:

What I really like to do is find old motorized things that nobody wants, and rebuild them for myself, or to sell and make profit.

Just a few I took pics off:

I also make and enjoy beer!

I train in Okinawan karate, Okinawan weaponry, and of course modern weaponry.
I read and collect martial arts and tactical books.
I've been training for so long it's more of a lifestyle than a hobby. And for the last three years I've been hitting the gym.
That's about it. I have other interests but nothing I spend a lot of time or money in.

I go kayaking, boating, hit the gym most days (except for the summer) and keep up with some Italian traditions like jarring my own sauce and hot peppers , making home made meatballs, eggplants etc.

I also have an addiction to the financial markets. Gamble every day on the market..
I wished I was mechanical inclined..

That's cool stuff guys!

This is pretty cool. We all know that we love cigars, but I think it's fun learning new things about the people we talk to every day.

Tony Denali: Cards are cool. I used to have a ton, but none that were really of any value. Blue Rays, huh? Not yet, but soon for me I hope...lol

Tony Black: Martial Arts? Very Cool! I have a friend that has been training since we were little guys. Once, he was approached by PRIDE to fight. His wife said "no"...lol He really didn't want to anyway. I really admire those that practice and train daily. I don't think I could ever do it.

Jimmie: Now, I did not know you kayak? Sit-a-top/Ocean, or standard? In the Ocean, or do you creek?

I not only enjoy homebrewing, but growing some of the hops I use in in my homebrew. And the fruit of that toil should be realized in a brew this week!

wow i never heard of anyone growing there own hops..are you able to give the hops different flavors that you want the beer to have or are you stuck with depending on where the seed is from or how does it go?

Cool stuff guys.

I used to be in the clunker business, buying, fixing, and selling cars. I still do it once in a while, and enjoy it a lot.

4 Wheeling is something I have done since I was a kid. I have had some real beaters that would go just about anywhere.

My neighbors hated me

I entered a Tuff Truck competition in this one. most of the entrants were trying to finish the course in the best time, me and my buddy were more interested in thrilling the crowd, going for air and distance. It was great.

I have snowboarded since I was about 13, but have taken a little break after tearing my achilles tendon.

I love camping and fishing, but am not as hard core as some of the guys here. I am perfectly content sitting on the dock, trout fishing.

or lawn fishing the day before the season opens

Recently I have started golfing, mainly because my friends, brothers, and dad do. I am no good at it, but its a fun way to spend time with family and friends.

I used to race dirt track, and would love to build another car. Its a pretty expensive hobby, thats actually why I quit. The track I raced at is 200 miles away. When gas broke $3 I sold my car.

I flipped this one and slid down the back stretch on the roof

I love grilling in the back yard on my sweet ass BBQ

I find myself trying to combine hobbies, pretty much anything I can do while smoking cigars is great.

I have second year Nuggets/Chinook/Cascades, and First year CTZ/Willamette/Centennial/Sterling.

As far as the different flavors go, where it is grow does affect the final flavor some, but I have found most of the hops I have been growing retain ther basic essence (Cascade are still citrusy, chinook are still bold, etc).
