- Skipper the cigar aFISHinodo - 06-23-2006 I bid on and won this: http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=6284114766&rd=1&sspagename=STRK%3AMEWN%3AIT&rd=1 It is a total piece of crapola! First, it says "made in Italy"... Sorry, it is made in Hong Kong Second, It says Ship from Canada, it drop-shipped form Hong Kong Third: It says retail value "At least $25"... It's an ok paper weight for around $2... It has no edge at all. The blade portion is rounded like a kiddie scissor. Also, the pivot is a common screw that looses with each and every opening of the jaws. Lastly it looks and feels like garbage. Oh, the blade is chrome plated making sharpening it an impossibliity. And did you read where it said "Gold plated handle"??? Gold my butt! The worse thing is, they use a bot for feedback. It echo's your feedback left for them, so unless I want my first negative, I can't say anything bad about them (This is why I leave my feedback to my buyers the second payment clears... they are free to say what they want without repercussion and it's far more honest this way) - bartok - 06-23-2006 Now, now Skip. Let's not put words in their mouth. It doesn't say "made in Italy" - it says "Italy" and "from Italy". Maybe they mean spiritually from Italy, as opposed to having actually been there once. But seriously - I haven't heard of this bot feedback thing before. I took a look at some of their negatives, and the buyers didn't have negatives that I saw. You might be OK leaving one if you're displeased. You are right, though. Etiquette would dictate that you express your satisfiaction with the bargain as soon as you have attained it. In the case of the seller, that should be as soon as payment is received. I left a positive for a seller recently, but he wasn't happy that I mentioned in my feedback that the item was scuffed up, so he wouldn't give me a positive feedback. I was like, WTF? He was paid 2 minutes after the sale was over, and moreover he got a positive feedback - what's there to gripe about? - Parkster - 06-23-2006 Full 30 day return is listed. Send it back. I just recently used this option with an E-Bay seller of a (looked) very nice desk top cutter (Secret Santa early shopping. Its boring out here sometimes, OK?), and was very pleased that I was refunded my original purchase price, minus the shipping. You aint having much luck with purchases lately John. :? - Skipper the cigar aFISHinodo - 06-23-2006 actually, I'm doing fine... I just buy so much cr@p that a mishap here & there is bound to happen. As far as sending it back, they will not refund the S&H and it will cost me to send it back... Heck... $10 lesson learned. - Rob The Long Island Cowboy - 06-23-2006 I'm so sick of ebay scammers and paypal that enables them that I don't use either of them anymore. |
